Before the Big Day: Wedding Hair & Makeup Prep

“I believe in manicures, I believe in overdressing, I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick.” - Audrey Hepburn

Hello, beautiful!

We’re thrilled that you’ve chosen Peach Blossoms for your beauty services. Please share this guide with anyone receiving services. Taking these advance steps ensures that the day runs smoothly and our artists start with the best possible blank canvas.

General

All individuals receiving services must arrive at the start time for the first service of the day. Styling times vary by individual, and having the entire party together allows us to move from one style to the next and keep everyone on schedule. If someone in your party must arrive later, please let us know so we can provide a specific arrival time for their service.

Search those inspiration photos for your hair or makeup! From lip color to the swoop of an up-do, each detail you share helps our stylists understand and then create the look you want to achieve. Check out our Instagram @peachblossomshairandmakeup for ideas!

Hair Prep

Have your hair cut at least 2 weeks before the event. Frizzled ends don’t curl or hold a style as well.

Interested in extensions? We offer voluminous, color matched clip-in extensions for our most luxurious styling. If interested in ordering, please contact us at least 2 weeks before your event to purchase.

Remember to bring any hair accessories (veils, clips, combs, flowers). This is especially important during your trial run, so we can try out the complete look!

Let's  ensure that your hair looks its healthiest for your event? We’ve curated Kevin Murphy product collections for a wide range of bridal hair needs. Shop ,select  your collection and have perfectly prepped stunning hair during your event.

Day of Hair Prep

Don’t believe the “dirty hair is better” myth! Hair that hasn’t been washed for 2+ days is not ideal for styling.

If you’re receiving a prep and primed blow dry style for your rehearsal the night before your wedding, no need to wash again!

Wash your hair either the night before or morning of your event, thoroughly rinse away all conditioner, and blow dry with mousse (this helps create layers of texture for lasting styles). Do not sleep on wet hair or let it air dry.

Please arrive for your service with fully dry hair. Wet or even slightly damp hair that needs to be blown dry will incur a $20 drying fee.

Don’t flat iron your hair before your service; this makes it harder to re-curl. If you have curly hair, we’re happy to advise on the best prep for your hair type.

Makeup: Leading up to the Event

Skin Prep

Establish a skincare routine using high-quality products at least 6 months prior to your event. Healthy skin ensures a smooth, long-lasting makeup application.

Complete any waxing services at least 7-10 days before your event. Airbrush or powder makeup won’t adhere to freshly-waxed skin.

Our artists will apply a lip color, but many clients choose to purchase their own lip products for touch-ups throughout the day. Shop our recommended Mirabella lip stains, glosses and pencils here.

Day of Skin Prep

The night before your event, remove all makeup and hydrate your skin (lotions containing SPF are okay to use at this time).

The morning of, complete your normal skincare routine but skip any products that contain SPF. SPF lotions don’t react well to flash photography and wash out your face in photos. Our artists will apply a moisturizer specific to your skin type during service.

Hydrate ,hydrate ,hydrate. Make sure to drink plenty of water for beautiful hydrated skin. Puffy eyes and dried out skin won't leave you glowing .
